Why I'm Teaching a Free Claude Workshop

Most people are still using AI like a search engine. They type a question, get an answer, and move on. That barely scratches the surface.

On April 15, 2026, I'm running a free Claude Power Hour inside Dan Mo's AI Skool, a free community run by Dan Mowinski, founder of Power Up AI. Dan and I got certified as AI consultants through the same program, Innovating with AI (Certified Consultant Directory), and have worked together on client projects. So when he asked me to bring a Claude-focused session to his community, it was an easy yes.

The goal of this workshop is simple: get you comfortable using Claude AI as a real working tool, not just a chatbot you ask random questions.

What the Claude Power Hour Covers

This isn't a "what is AI" overview. It's a focused, practical session built around what Claude can actually do for your business right now.

Here's what we're walking through:

• What Claude is (and isn't). Claude is built by Anthropic and designed around safety, honesty, and helpfulness. It's not just a chatbot. It writes, analyzes, summarizes, researches, codes, and reasons through complex problems.
• Why Claude stands out. The 200K+ token context window means you can upload full contracts, reports, and financial documents without losing anything. Extended thinking lets Claude reason step by step through hard problems. On business plans, your data is not used for model training by default.
• Data privacy essentials. This is critical for business teams. We cover what's protected on business accounts vs. personal accounts, and the golden rule: never upload truly sensitive data (SSNs, passwords, bank details) into any AI tool.
• Navigating the interface. A live walkthrough of the chat input, sidebar, model selector, file uploads, and tools.
• Writing effective prompts. A quick recap connecting to the PREPA framework I teach in my corporate AI bootcamps. The key idea: talk to Claude like a smart coworker, not a command line. Set the stage, define the task, specify the rules.
• Uploading and analyzing documents. Claude handles PDFs, Word docs, CSVs, images, and more. We look at practical small business use cases like summarizing contract terms, flagging overdue milestones, and identifying financial trends.
• Iterating on responses. Your first prompt rarely produces a perfect result. That's completely fine. We cover how to ask follow-ups, give feedback, redirect, and know when to start a fresh conversation.
• Projects. These are self-contained workspaces with their own knowledge base and custom instructions that persist across sessions. Think of it as onboarding a new team member who remembers everything you've told them.
• Artifacts and Skills. Claude can create standalone outputs like documents, code, HTML pages, diagrams, and interactive tools. Skills let Claude generate and modify real downloadable files like Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Connectors. Connect Claude to Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, and more so it can search and pull context without you copy-pasting anything.
• Research Mode. Claude runs multiple searches, explores different angles, and synthesizes findings into a comprehensive report with citations, all in about 5 to 15 minutes.

This session is designed for business professionals, small business owners, and anyone who wants to move beyond basic AI usage. You don't need to be technical. You don't need prior Claude experience. You just need to show up ready to learn.
