New Free Workshop Video: Claude Cowork and Claude Code Explained

I co-hosted this one with Travis McBurney of The McBurney Group. I cover Claude Cowork. He covers Claude Code. Together, the two tools represent the difference between asking Claude questions and actually putting Claude to work, and almost nobody uses either one.

Why We Made This Claude Tutorial

Most people using Claude are stuck in one mode: open a chat, ask a question, copy the answer, close the tab. That's fine. It's also a fraction of what the tool can actually do.

I tell every client the same thing. If you're only using Claude to rewrite emails or answer basic questions, it will never touch your bottom line. The real value shows up when you stop asking Claude to answer things and start asking Claude to do things. That's what this workshop is about.

What's Covered in the Workshop

Claude Cowork

Claude Cowork is a desktop application, separate from the regular Claude chat interface, that gives Claude the ability to access your files, browse the web, and run tasks on a schedule, even when you're not at your computer. It requires a paid Claude plan.

In the video, I walk through the full setup live: choosing which folder Claude can work in, setting permission levels, and connecting tools like Gmail and Google Sheets. Then I show two real examples running on camera.

The first is a scheduled lead generation system. Every morning, Claude Cowork searches for businesses matching my target criteria, pulls contact information through Apollo, adds the leads to a spreadsheet, and triggers an email sequence through Brevo. It has generated over 2,200 leads and costs about $60 a month.

The second is dumber and more fun: I have Claude Cowork clip every coupon on my CVS account automatically. I gave it one plain-language instruction on camera and let it run. No step-by-step clicking directions. It figured out the site navigation on its own.

Claude Code

Claude Code goes a level further than Cowork. Instead of automating a task, it lets you direct the building of actual tools, systems, and applications, using plain language instead of a programming language. This is the same category of work behind our custom AI agent development services.

Travis makes an important point in the workshop worth repeating here: Code is not just for developers. It's built for non-technical users who can describe clearly what they want. You're not writing code. You're directing it.

He covers Plan Mode, why you should never let Claude execute a build before reviewing the plan first, along with claude.md and memory files, skills, custom commands, and hooks. He also walks through a real build: a custom project management and CRM system he built himself in a couple of days to replace a paid HubSpot subscription.
